It’s not often you see a Lamborghini, but when you do there’s only one thing going through your mind…

“Man if only I had that car I’d be tearing up the streets!” is what some people would say. Practicality doesn’t really enter our minds when we see beautiful exotic supercars driving around. And why would it, they weren’t made to be practical. They were made to be the most incredible machines on four wheels. With performance figures through the roof, driving one at 55 mph is just short of a crime. These supercars as they’re known today have been through variation after variation and it seems that they just keep getting better and better.

But what is it really like to drive one? And I don’t mean on the roads of Chicago where we’re based, because I’ve got two words for you that answer that question – pot holes. I’m talking about taking it out to a Real Racetrack and hammering it around corners at high speeds and flooring it on straightaways. It’s the only place where you can test the limits of these cars and see what they’re truly made of.

It’s amazing what you’ll learn just after a few laps. Every car has a different personality. And not like “Rolanda the Honda” kind of personality, more like composure, power and stability. Ferraris are a true driver’s car, since their influence comes straight from their Formula 1 department they respond extremely well on the track. They’re lightweight and powerful, very nimble through the corners. While Lamborghini’s are more brute force from the clunk of the transmission and its’ huge power – which makes for great fun on the straights.

The Nissan GT-R, although it weighs nearly 4,000 lbs, is one of the most capable supercars on the track. It’s lightening quick thanks to its’ twin-turbos and can handle nearly anything you throw at it with its’ AWD and electronics. And on the other end of the spectrum you have the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, that in reality acts more like an old school muscle car in part to its’ 6.3L V8 and 48/52 weight distribution. It always wants to wag its’ tail like a dog who’s owner just walked in from work.

Each supercar feels differently and makes that very well known the minute you sit in that driver’s seat. It’s a feeling you can’t even describe, it can only be felt from the experience of driving one for yourself. Luckily, you no longer have to be a millionaire to afford one, you can drive ours!
