This past year some of the most incredible supercars have been released ever. We’re taking a moment to reflect on the Top 10 Supercars of 2013. From Ferrari’s LaFerrari to the ridiculously engineered McLaren P1 – this is what 2013 gave us.
Ferrari 458 Speciale:
The 458 Speciale is like the F430 Scuderia, it’s a beefed up, tuned up beast of the 458 Italia. With its 4.5 liter V8 engine it boasts a womping 605 hp, which is 35 hp more than the standard 458 Italia. With some design changes and a new front grille, the 458 Speciale is a nothing to mess with.
W Motors Lykan Hypersport:
Possibly the most luxurious supercar ever built, the Lykan Hypersport by W Motors includes the most precious of gemstones in its interior and even in its’ headlights. Each car is custom built to the owners specifications – from the color to the type of gems used. Paired with a 3.7 liter flat-six engine it generates 750 hp and will hit a top speed of 245 mph. Possibly the coolest part of it though, flip-flopped door hinges.
Lamborghini Veneno & Veneno Roadster:
Lamborghini’s most insane bull, only 3 coupes and 9 roadsters were made. With a pricetag set at £3.1 million it’s one of the most expensive supercars you could ever buy. Lamborghini has gone so far as to make it one it’s fastest models too. With a 6.5 liter V12 it produces 740hp and a top speed of 220 mph. Not a bad way to celebrate 50 years of automobile history.
Ferrari F12 Berlinetta:
The F12 is one of the best looking Ferrari’s out there. With a V12 engine producing 740hp it will turn and burn and thrill you the whole time. Ferrari claims that every detail was developed to create the best and most streamlined aerodynamics on a car yet. Those details also make the car absolutely gorgeous and ferocious.
McLaren P1:
The P1 is awesome to see released so soon after the MP4-12C, considering the last production car they made before that was the F1. With features derived from Formula 1 like DRS and a hybrid drivetrain it’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Its a marvel in engineering from McLaren hitting the most impressive specs. The P1 will do 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds and run till it tops out at 217 mph.
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento:
It may only be a Gallardo LP570-4 on the outside, slightly, but on the inside its a track shredding monster. Made from an extremely lightweight blend of plastic and carbon fiber, it weighs less than 2,200 lbs. It’ll hit 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and feel just as badass as it looks.
Ferrari LaFerrari:
The Ferrari The Ferrari as its become known is just as mad as the Enzo was. With a combined 950 hp from it’s 6.3 liter V12 and electric KERS system it joins the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder in the battle for which will own the lap record at the Nurburgring when it’s all said and done. Absolutely mind blowing power, and traditional Ferrari styling, the LaFerrari is the pinnacle of Ferrari’s range of models.
Porsche 918 Spyder:
Currently holding the lap record at the famed Nurburgring, its the first Hybrid Production Supercar to ever do so. with over 600 + hp in an electric supercar no feeling is more weird than flying around a track silent. With this being the latest and most impressive car from Porsche it gives us some new hope that they can do much more than just 911 variations.
Pagani Zonda Revolucion
When Pagani released the track-only Zonda R our jaws dropped. Fast forward not too much further and we get the Zonda Revolucion, just as insane but with the added comfort of being road legal. With 748 hp per ton, and only weighing 2,358 lbs it really is the closest equivalent to a Formula 1 car. The Revolucion comes with a 6-speed magnesium transversal and sequential gearbox with a 20 millisecond shift time! Bosch-developed traction control with 12 different settings and a DRS system with 2 modes. Carbon ceramic brakes, Pirelli’s sticky tires, a carbon-titanium central monocoque and carbon fiber body, the Revolucion is by far one of the best Zonda’s ever.
Accompanying the Veneno coupe & roadster, the Aventador LP720-4 was specifically designed as part of Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary editions. As we know the Aventador is possibly the hottest supercar that’s been released, and in true Lamborghini fashion they out-do themselves again. Only 200 were made and sold worldwide and each model has the 50° logo and a serial number so you know how special you are everyday. They’ve tuned the 6.5-liter V12 to add an extra 20 hp and given it a facelift with enlarged air intakes, extended its splitters and diffusers and given the engine bay new meshwork that further improves ventilation. Ferruccio Lamborghini would be proud.
