Supercars aren’t just insane works of art and engineering, but change the face of the car industry for years to come.

Every year we see new concept cars released that unfortunately never seem to get produced. Although, with the release of the 918, P1, and LaFerrari and other fantastic supercars, the car industry has begun to push the boundaries of development taking a turn into a new era of automotive design and technology. Here is a list of some of the latest concepts and potentially green lit cars that could be produced over the next 10 years.

Audi R10

Rumors have confirmed that Audi has been approved to develop a Le Mans inspired hyper car for production. The reports claim that the future R10 will feature a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque chassis with a 6.0-liter, twin turbo V10 engine producing nearly 850 hp. A hybrid version is possible which could produce upwards of 1000 hp or more.

 

 

 

BMW i9

With the recent release of the i8 being so well accepted, BMW has given the green light on developing a more powerful hybrid super car deemed the i9. With BMW’s upcoming birthday anniversary, the i9 intends to succeed the M1 super car from years back and liven up BMW’s stable of production cars.

 

 

 

 

Lamborghini Asterion

Recently unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, the Lamborghini Asterion is the automakers first crack at a hybrid super car. Although Lamborghini claims it’s a one-off, you can expect to see this hybrid technology in future models.

 

 

 

 

 

Toyota FT-1

When the FT-1 was unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show it grabbed our attention with it’s F1 styling and futuristic looks. With production still unsure, Toyota teases us with another rendition of it sporting a graphite paint job making their first major luxury sports coupe even more appealing.
