"ONCE IN A LIFETIME"
"Well worth the trip. It was beautiful, and fun, and exhilerating. All of the turns and the accelerations. It was once in a lifetime. It's amazing."
A LUXURY ROAD & TRACK DRIVING EXPERIENCE
Open Road: California was created for drivers who crave more than a scenic drive. It is a luxury driving experience designed to immerse you in the thrill of Northern California’s most breathtaking backroads from the driver’s seat of your own car.
Every route is meticulously scouted to deliver the perfect balance of exhilarating driving roads and unforgettable scenery, while each thoughtfully chosen stop invites you to pause, take in the landscape, and capture the moment through curated photo opportunities and activities.
Driver registration is $5,500, with a passenger add-on for $1,000.
Registration & Welcome | SpringHill Suites Napa Valley
The experience begins at SpringHill Suites, where guests are welcomed with a private breakfast and opening briefing in a setting defined by motorsport heritage. This first gathering sets the tone for the days ahead, offering an opportunity to settle in, meet fellow drivers, and step fully into the experience before the road unfolds.
Into the Coast
Departing Napa Valley, the route winds west along CA-116, leaving vineyard country behind as the landscape gives way to the cool air and dramatic beauty of the Northern California coast. A pause in Bodega Bay offers time to take in the view, capture the moment, and experience the first shift from anticipation to immersion.
Lunch
Midday is reserved for a relaxed lunch stop, thoughtfully timed within the route to offer both a reset and a chance to enjoy the destination beyond the driver’s seat.
The Coastal Drive | Stewart’s Point
North of Jenner, Highway 1 becomes more intimate, technical, and rewarding. Near Stewart’s Point, the road narrows and begins to flow through blind corners, elevation changes, and sweeping coastal vistas that define this stretch of the journey.
Arrival at Brewery Gulch Inn
By late afternoon, guests arrive at the evening’s accommodations, where the experience shifts from drive to retreat. Time to refresh, unwind, and take in the setting before the welcome dinner.
Welcome Dinner | Brewery Gulch Inn
The day concludes with a hosted dinner on the terrace, where exceptional dining, conversation, and atmosphere come together in a setting as memorable as the drive itself. It is the first of two evenings designed to bring guests together over a shared appreciation for performance, place, and the road ahead.
Departure
The route heads south before turning inland into the Navarro River corridor.
Navarro River Redwoods | CA-128
CA-128 follows the river through a dense stand of redwoods, creating one of the most distinctive stretches of the drive.
Signal Ridge Road
The climb out of the valley brings tighter switchbacks, shorter sightlines, and one of the day’s more technical sections. A summit stop is built in for photos.
Hendy Woods
Back on the valley floor, a stop at Hendy Woods offers a short walk through the redwood grove before lunch.
Lunch
A scheduled lunch stop breaks up the route before the afternoon drive.
Arrival at Hotel Healdsburg
Guests arrive at the hotel in the afternoon with time to check in, reset, refresh, and settle in before the evening’s events.
Dinner | The Matheson
Reconvene for a proper sit-down dinner, full service, and the first of two evenings in good company.
Departure | Chalk Hill Road
The group heads south on one of Sonoma's best-kept secrets — a winding run past equestrian estates and high-end vineyard properties that most travelers never find.
Calistoga Pass
The route climbs hard over the ridge separating Sonoma from Napa. Technical, steep, and uncompromising.
The Silverado Sweep | Napa Valley
Rather than the tourist corridor of Highway 29, the group sweeps onto the Silverado Trail heading south through the Stags Leap District — wide, scenic, and cinematic.
Farewell Paddock Lunch | Sonoma Raceway
A private, catered lunch at Sonoma Raceway, allowing you to debrief your experience with fellow enthusiasts.
Track Session: The Grand Finale
After over 300 miles miles of California's best backroads, transition to our professionally maintained fleet for two dedicated track sessions on Sonoma Raceway's road course. An unforgettable close.
