Porsche’s 918 Spyder has become the first Hybrid Production Supercar to break the record at the world famous Nurburgring with a lap time of 6 minutes and 57 seconds. Although it is not the fastest lap time at the ring, it holds the record for road legal production cars following the Radical SR8 & SR8 LM track cars.

The 918 aggressively beat out the Dodge Viper ACR by a full 15 seconds on September 4th, making the Viper look like a measly garden snake.

With figures like these, the 918 is easily one of the greatest Porsche’s ever produced. Its’ technological achievements will definitely spread throughout the motoring industry for years to come.
