Open Questions About the Open Road

Welcome to Open Road

For over a decade, Xtreme Xperience has been offering supercar track experiences to those who are looking for a thrill of a lifetime, but that just wasn’t enough for us. As enthusiasts ourselves, we’re always looking to expand our offerings to connect with more people in more places.

So, in 2021, we launched Open Road, a one of a kind xperience that puts drivers behind the wheel of the world’s most incredible supercars, on some of the most scenic roads in the country. These aren’t just any old scenic roads either, these are roads that are handpicked to be equally challenging as they are naturally awe-inspiring.

Melding the world of supercars and beautiful natural surroundings has generated an incredible amount of interest and since this type of experience is still new for most people, we wanted to break it all down by covering the most frequently asked questions our team gets.

So, if you’re ready to hit the Open Road and have the experience of a lifetime, let’s explore!

Q. How long do I get to drive?

Open Road offers a variety of different experiences depending on how much time you want to spend out on the Open Road.

Drivers can choose from one-hour, 2.5-hour, half-day, and full-day driving experiences.  If you opt for a full-day experience, we also take you to lunch at one of the region’s most iconic locations.

Once you decide how long you want to stay out on the Open Road, you get to choose from our selection of incredible supercars. You’ll have to choose a favorite for the one-hour and 2.5-hour experiences, but you can opt to drive all three if you go for a half-day or full-day experience!

Our current Fleet includes a Ferrari 488 Spider, a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, and a Porsche GT3. Yes, you get to take to the Open Road in your choice of either an Italian supercar convertible that will make your spine tingle or a German supercar that smashes all expectations of how a car can handle and perform on an Open Road.

This is driving nirvana!

Q. How will I know the routes to take on the tour?

Once you hit the Open Road, our lead car will make sure that you don’t get lost or wander off the course that we’ve carefully designed. Remember, our team has thoroughly scouted the region for the perfect roads and has designed the entire experience to make sure that you get to take full advantage of your supercar’s handling and acceleration abilities. Plus, we’ll make sure to take you by some beautiful natural locations along the way that will take your breath away.

We also have a follow car at the end of the pack to make sure we keep all cars together and that nobody falls behind. In addition, every single car is also equipped with a walkie-talkie that will allow all crew members and drivers to communicate in case there’s a flock of sheep crossing the road, road debris, or other interesting situations that can come while traversing the Open Road.

Q. Do I need car insurance?

Yes, you will need car insurance to take part in an Open Road event.

Drivers are responsible for any damage that occurs during the drive experience and every driver must carry full coverage insurance. This includes liability, comprehensive, and collision with a minimum $100,000 liability limit. No later than week before heading out onto the Open Road, all drivers must submit their insurance declaration page that clearly shows the insurance carrier’s name, policy number, and coverage limits.

If your coverage does not meet the Open Road minimum requirement, you can purchase additional coverage with your insurance company prior to your drive. Lastly, you must be 25 to take part in the driving experience.

 Q. What if I get a speeding ticket?

Trust us, we know how tempting it is to push a car with over 600 horsepower out on the Open Road, but if you break the speed limit and you get caught, you’ll have to pay for any ticket or violation received. We encourage people to have fun, but we also want to keep things safe as well, so please, use common sense and you’ll be just fine.

Q. Can I bring a passenger?

Heck yes! Unlike our track experiences where a professional driving instructor needs to ride shotgun, you’re welcome to bring a passenger on an Open Road event. Just make sure that your passenger is down for a thrill ride and is great at picking the right music for your journey ahead (but let’s be honest, you’ll be taking in the sounds under the hood).

Q. Are the cars manuals or automatics?

Look, we love the manual transmission but not everyone knows how to drive a 3 pedal setup.

Since our goal is to put everyone into a supercar, we keep our fleet as automatics, but most of these vehicles only come that way from the factory anyways. There’s a reason a Formula 1 car doesn’t use a manual transmission! Trust us, once you feel the speed these things shift at and feel the punch of a dual-clutch transmission slamming into gear, you won’t miss that 3 pedal setup one bit. Well, maybe you will, but in the moment, you certainly won’t be thinking about it.
