Lamborghini rears its horns at the GT racing competition
Just in time for the 2015 racing season to begin, the italian supercar manufacturer and endurance racing competitor, announced another racing series model. This version, yet again, is based off of the Lamborghini Huracán (not complaining). Lamborghini is simply calling it, the Huracán GT3, and it looks like an exotic, neon green, bull shark! Ready to shred through racetracks across the world. CAN’T WAIT!
The new Huracán GT3 will find itself amongst some familiar competition – like the GT3 Gallardo – as it’s poised to make a grand entrance into the upcoming Blancpain Endurance Racing Series. Hopefully our voices are loud enough for Lamborghini to hear, when we ask to see the Super Trofeo Huracán go head-to-head, against this version. Why? Because Racecar!!!
What we know so far, is that many lips, spoilers, a diffuser and other exterior shapes and cuts surround the once clean, and sleek yet edgy, original version of the Huracán. Allowing this rendition to be significantly lighter weight than the road version. Also, unlike the standard version, the power will now be directed to the rear wheels, only (ridding the Huracán of its AWD). This will likely increase the power-to-weight ratio, while still utilizing the 5.2L V10 engine. Except, it will just get kicked up a notch or three (I mean, who are we kidding? This is Lamborghini we’re talking about). Although we are unsure of the horsepower and torque specs currently, we can be sure that it will be on-par with the Super Trofeo’s 611hp; and it will need it to compete against the likes of Ferraris, Audis, and Porsches at Spa, and the good old Nürburgring!
Will we see this Green Monster at the Green Hell in 2015?
If that hasn’t got you all hot and bothered, how about this video of the new Huacán GT3 posted to YouTube by Lamborghini? Check it out!
How do you think this will fair in competition compared to its siblings on the racing circuit? And which would you have in your dream garage?
